Just like fun, community is not something that can be forced. Community is something that emerges when different people are put together, interact and resolve issues, together.
We strongly believe though, that the surroundings can impact the speed at which a community develops. Our offer, from our application process, to the way we assemble shared kitchens is designed with the purpose of encouraging a strong community to emerge.

To offer the best opportunities within our financial framework, prioritization is key. UMEUS focuses on quality, community, functionality and human interaction at all levels.
This approach means that we prioritize community and common areas as much as private student housing. Studios are designed to be more compact, allowing for larger and better equipped common areas.
The design philosophy.
The design philosophy. Every square meter is created with a focus on community and improved quality of life.
Each communal kitchen consists of 14-22 students, which our research shows is the optimal number for social groups. This number is enough to ensure there's always life and people you know in the kitchen, but not so many that it becomes chaotic.
Additionally, by designing all Studios for quiet, focused activities, we've created a space where you can close a door and have time alone.
The communal kitchens are dedicated to daily activities such as cooking or watching a movie - always with the option to do it together with the other residents.
These design principles run throughout the building, with plenty of opportunities to meet new faces in the many common areas.
