Yes, a deposit is charged upon signing the contract. The deposit corresponds to 2 months' rent (and cannot be used as rent payment). We know how important it is to feel safe as a tenant. At UMEUS, we prioritize transparency around security deposits so you can feel completely safe. Our refund process follows Danish law, with clear timelines and expectations that we continuously update you with. After your move-in inspection, a detailed report of any necessary renovation costs will be prepared and shared with you. Once all relevant information regarding your rental agreement is gathered, a final statement is prepared and the remaining deposit, after necessary deductions, is returned to you. Our process is designed to ensure that all deductions are fair and documented, with utility cost adjustments according to your contract. We're here to make your rental experience both easy and secure.

What do I pay the first month?

You must send your resignation by e-mail to the community manager:

The termination period is 3 months from your notice. If you move out earlier, and UMEUS finds a new student to move-in, you will of course not have to cover the rent, that the new student pays.

What about my security deposit?

A move-out inspection will be arranged at least 14 days before you move out. The move-out inspection will record the condition of your room and any issues. When the tenancy agreement expires, the refund of your deposit will be activated. The cost of repairs to any damage will be deducted from your deposit before payment. It may take up to 8 weeks for transfer.
