Every inch of our offer – from your studio and the study areas, to our welcoming staff and the UMEUS community – is developed to help you succeed and grow. Whether you are freshly independent or have been living on your own for years, UMEUS provides the ideal foundation for you to learn and live.
Making space for what matters
At UMEUS we prioritize shared common areas, with the intent of making it easier for students to spend time together in their daily lives.

Enabling
We believe that student housing should enable a positive student experience and personal growth - not a source of stress. We have designed UMEUS with this in mind, including both social and professional spaces.

Functional
Studios comes furnished reducing the stress of the move-in period and spending money on furniture However, the personal space is still customizable allowing for residents to feel at home.

Community
We aspire to create a foundation for a strong community at UMEUS, but also expect residents to engage with each other. A strong community is built by engagement from everyone, who take part in it.

UMEUS is built with community as the central aspiration. We are inspired by the positive interactions that can happen when people live together and share their daily lives.
Thought of the details
All our Studios are designed with a focus on comfort and functionality - with high ceilings and plenty of daylight.
We can't manufacture fun.
But we can create the framework for it!
Just like fun, community is not something that can be forced. Community is something that emerges when different people are put together, interact and resolve issues, together.
We strongly believe though, that the surroundings can impact the speed at which a community develops. Our offer, from our application process, to the way we assemble shared kitchens is designed with the purpose of encouraging a strong community to emerge.

The UMEUS philosophy is to use resources on what makes sense and invest in what gives value - to the students.
In order to create the best possible offering to our students within the economic frame, priority is essential. UMEUS prioritizes what is quality and what is important for the students. Quality in this case equals community, functionality and human interaction on all levels.
This means that the common and shared space is prioritized as high as the private space. The studios are more compact, thus taken some space from the studios and investing this into bigger and better common areas.
The design philosophy.
Every square meter has been designed around the belief in community and a good student life.
Each communal kitchen consists of 14-22 residents, which our research shows is the optimal number for social groups. This number is enough to ensure that there is always life and people you know in the kitchen, but not so many that it becomes chaotic.
In addition, by designing all Studios for quiet, focused activities, we have created a space where you can close a door and have time alone.
The communal kitchens are dedicated to daily activities such as cooking or watching a movie - always with the option to do so with other residents.
These design principles run throughout the building, with plenty of opportunities to meet new faces in the many common areas.
