Transparent & fair refund of deposits in accordance with Danish law
We know how important it is to feel safe as a tenant.
At UMEUS, we prioritize transparency around deposits, so you can feel completely safe. Our refund process follows Danish law, with clear timelines and expectations that we update you with on a regular basis.
After your move-in inspection, a detailed report of any necessary renovation costs will be prepared and shared with you. Once all relevant information regarding your rental agreement has been gathered, a final statement is prepared and the remaining deposit, after necessary deductions, is returned to you.
Our process is designed to ensure all deductions are fair and documented, with utility cost adjustments according to your contract.
We're here to make your rental experience both easy and safe.
CPR - easy registration of residence
For both Danish and international residents, getting a Danish CPR number is an important first step, which can be particularly challenging for international residents.
At UMEUS, you get a legal address for your CPR registration as soon as you move in.
Your rental contract will clearly state the address of your studio and together with your documentation of study activity, this is all you need to show the Danish authorities to get an official CPR address in Denmark.
We make the process simple and stress-free so you can settle in with peace of mind.
Your safe home in new surroundings
Moving to a new city or country can feel overwhelming, but at UMEUS we make it easy to settle in and feel at home. With years of experience hosting international students at both undergraduate and graduate level, as well as exchange students, we work with local universities and educational institutions to ensure a smooth transition.
For exchange students planning shorter stays, we offer a simplified rental and deposit process to make your stay hassle-free.
At UMEUS you get the best of both worlds: your own private studio with its own bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette, as well as social areas like communal kitchens and other common areas where you can meet new people. Each resident has their very own home and doesn't have to share their private space with anyone else.
In our welcoming community, you'll meet new friends from all over the world at events, in study zones and in common areas designed especially for students.
Housing benefit
Residents with us can apply for housing benefit, which is a tax-free monthly subsidy designed to help cover the rent for homes with their own kitchen or kitchenette. The possibility of receiving housing benefit depends on individual income and other factors. You can apply for housing benefit even if you only live in Denmark for a short period of time.
